The Utah Jazz have taken to social media to celebrate their players’ accomplishments throughout the 2023-24 NBA season, sharing a highlight reel of what they call “bullish activities all season long.” The post features dynamic in-game action showcasing the team’s most exciting moments from the campaign.

Young Bull Leads The Charge

Among the standout performers this season was Collin Sexton, nicknamed “Young Bull,” who has emerged as a consistent offensive force for the franchise. According to a recent post from the team, Sexton led the Jazz in scoring for the second consecutive season, tallying 1,159 points. This achievement puts him in rare company as only the third guard in Jazz history to lead the team in points in back-to-back seasons.

The 25-year-old guard, who was acquired in the Donovan Mitchell trade with Cleveland in 2022, has become a cornerstone of Utah’s rebuilding efforts. His aggressive driving style and improved shooting have made him one of the team’s most reliable offensive weapons.

Rookie Sensations Make Their Mark

The Jazz also highlighted the impressive rookie season of Kyle Filipowski, affectionately known as “Flip” to teammates and fans. The Duke product recorded the third-most double-doubles among all NBA rookies this season while setting a career-high of 30 points during his debut campaign.

In another post, the team noted Filipowski’s impressive statistical output, reporting he accumulated more than 500 points, 350 rebounds, and 100 assists this season. The Jazz publicly stated they believe these numbers should earn him All-Rookie team consideration.

Record-breaking Rookie Playmaker

Another rookie making headlines was Keyonte George, referred to as “Zay” by the team. The guard broke franchise rookie records by accumulating 615 points and 446 assists in his debut season, becoming the first Jazz rookie ever to reach these combined totals. The team expressed excitement about his future, noting in their post that “he’s just getting started.”

George’s playmaking ability has been particularly impressive, with the Jazz showcasing what they called the “classic points-assists Quantum Entanglement” in reference to his dual scoring and distribution skills.

Collins Joins Elite Company

Veteran forward John Collins also received recognition for his efficient scoring. The team revealed Collins became just the fifth player in Jazz history to average 19+ points while shooting 50% from the field. A separate post featured a “carousel packed with John Collins dunks” highlighting his explosive finishing ability.

The Jazz also shared that Collins has developed unique handshakes with teammates as his “favorite form of team bonding,” showcasing the chemistry development within the young roster.

Looking Ahead

The Utah Jazz, who finished the 2023-24 season with a 31-51 record and missed the playoffs, are clearly focusing on the positive developments of their young core. The organization appears to be taking a patient approach to their rebuild, celebrating individual growth and team chemistry while accumulating young talent.

The franchise also recently honored public address announcer Dan Roberts, who retired after 46 seasons with the organization. Roberts’ signature phrase “How ’bout this Jazz” became synonymous with the team’s identity over nearly five decades.

Founded in 1974 as the New Orleans Jazz before relocating to Salt Lake City in 1979, the franchise has historically been known for consistency and competitiveness. The team is now embracing a youth movement following the trades of previous stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.

For Jazz fans, these social media highlights offer reasons for optimism despite the challenging season. With a collection of promising young talent and veteran leadership, the organization’s “#TakeNote” hashtag serves as both a rallying cry and a reminder that this rebuilding team deserves attention as they develop into potential contenders in future seasons.
