Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young has finally achieved one of his most coveted career milestones – winning the 2024-25 NBA Assist Champion trophy.
The four-time NBA All-Star took to Instagram to celebrate the momentous achievement, posting photos of himself holding a trophy while expressing his long-held desire for success.
“I’ve always wanted this Trophy.. more than anything EVER! Many more to come…” Young wrote in his caption, adding a shoutout to “my teammates & Teal.”
About Trae Young
Rayford Trae Young was born on September 19, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas. After playing college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners, he was selected in the 2018 NBA draft by the Dallas Mavericks, but was immediately traded to the Atlanta Hawks along with a future first-round pick in exchange for the draft rights to Luka Dončić.
Young has established himself as one of the league’s premier point guards, known for his exceptional shooting range, playmaking ability, and scoring prowess. He’s often compared to Stephen Curry for his willingness to shoot from well beyond the three-point line.
With this award, Young’s declaration that “Many more [trophies] to come…” suggests this might just be the beginning of a new chapter in his career and for the Atlanta Hawks franchise.
