NBA player Bismack Biyombo has marked a significant milestone in his professional basketball career, celebrating 14 years in the league with a heartfelt social media post that emphasizes his faith and gratitude.
The 32-year-old center took to Instagram to share his reflections on reaching his 14th season in the NBA, posting a series of images and clips of himself in action on the court.
“Year 14 ✅,” Biyombo wrote in his caption. “By His grace, still standing, still climbing! Romans 8:28 – He’s been working it all for my good. Thank You, Lord, for carrying me, protecting me, and directing my steps. No shame in going after God. He’s the reason for it all!”
A Journey Of Faith And Persistence
The Democratic Republic of Congo native has made faith a central theme throughout his NBA career. His reference to Romans 8:28, a Bible verse stating that “all things work together for good to those who love God,” reflects a consistent spiritual foundation that has guided him through nearly a decade and a half of professional basketball.
This isn’t the first time Biyombo has shared his faith-based perspective with followers. In a previous Instagram post earlier this year, he simply wrote “Faithfulness. Roman 8:28,” accompanied by prayer emoji symbols, showing his consistent reliance on this particular scripture.
Biyombo’s NBA journey began when he was selected seventh overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings before being traded to the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets). He has since played for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, and, most recently, the Phoenix Suns.
Looking Ahead With Gratitude
As Biyombo enters his 14th NBA season, his message emphasizes not only career longevity but also spiritual growth and purpose. While many players might focus solely on athletic achievements when marking such milestones, Biyombo’s reflection centers on gratitude and divine guidance.
The veteran center continues to balance his professional basketball career with his humanitarian efforts, using his platform to inspire others and create positive change in his homeland. His journey from the Democratic Republic of Congo to 14 seasons in the NBA stands as a testament to perseverance, faith, and purposeful impact both on and off the court.
For Biyombo, reaching this milestone appears to be not just about basketball longevity, but about the greater purpose he believes has guided his steps throughout his career and life journey.
